Hiya, I’m the girl from Pennsylvania, USA, & have just come across this article! This was a great afternoon. Just to let you know, the violin & the fiddle are indeed one in the same, so no worries. The particular style that I played on this afternoon was ‘fiddling’, so I would’ve called it a fiddle then. But there’s nothing wrong with naming it a violin even whilst one is fiddling!
